About Wessam’s Leadership
As Wessam grows, leadership takes on a new form. 2020 brought on everything she was not expecting. A shift in perspective and perfection was no longer the goal. The way to reach goals is to make progress and choose the best decision. Passionate in photography, social media and the world, there is a constant pursuit of turning challenges into opportunities. Planting new roots in Virginia at six years old, Wessam adapted to a new culture. Fast forward, and 14 years later, Wessam is a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. Studying Public Relations, she balances academics among extracurricular activities like photographing for the independent student newspaper, internships, volunteering and pursuing leadership opportunities such as Ram Camp, Emerging Leaders Program and VCU LEAD.
